NAIL CUTTING NEW BORN : Keep your baby's finger nails short so that there's no chance of him scratching himself. In the first few months the nails are so soft that the simplest way to trim them is to bite them off gently yourself. If he wriggles, bite them off while he's sleeping.
OLDER BABY : Make the baby sit on your lap facing forwards if cooperative or else when the baby is sleeping on your lap. Hold one finger at a time and cut her nails with a baby scissors, following the shape of her fingertips and checking for sharp points. TOENAILS : Lay the young baby on her mat and make sit the younger baby on your lap. Hold her foot firmly or else she will kick. Cut the nails straight across, other wise the side edges might grow into the skin.
